Family and Friends Support Fellowship

God has blessed us with an incredible group of family and friends. This past week we help our first annual family and friends support fellowship. We gathered at Roswell Street Baptist Church with about 80 of our friends and family. The evening was special for us in so many ways.

First, it was great to catch up with so many people that we haven't seen in a long time. We had friends there from almost every church where we have served. We also had friends there that dated all the way back to elementary school. It was such a blessing to be able to catch up with each one of them and hear what God has been doing in their lives.

Second, it was a privilege to be able to share with everyone about our plans for planting a church in NYC. There has been no group that I have been more excited to share with than this one. I know that all through that room there are people that will regularly pray for us and encourage us. I can't tell you how much of a blessing that is.

Third, we were overwhelmed with the level of financial support that was committed that night. The generosity that was demonstrated at the fellowship was beyond gracious. It was simply another answer to prayer and confirmation that we are following God's lead to NYC.

I wanted to say a special thanks to those who helped to put the night together. There is no way we could have done this alone. My parents, Tommy and Pat Thompson, prepared the majority of the food and spent endless hours planning and preparing. Jim and Sue Turriglio helped with the decorations, invitations and were an incredible support in this. Mike and Sherri Muse, Kathy Ezell and Adam Miller all helped to serve and played key roles in putting this night together! I can't say thank you enough!
