It’s uptown and downtown, boroughs and buildings, food and fashion, districts and diversity. It’s home to Broadway, Times Square, Wall Street and the Statue of Liberty. It’s the backdrop to some of our nation’s greatest triumphs and most devastating tragedies.
With 8 million people New York City and more than 22 million in the metro area, it is the largest city in the United States, the third largest metro area in the world. In 2010 Forbes Magazine named New York City with the largest global impact and influence in the world. Boasting such authority and impact, the city has the overwhelming power to dictate the movement of culture in this nation and around the globe back to Christ. In order for this to happen, the city needs dedicated churches, planters and partners to commit to the arduous work of evangelizing and church planting in a diverse population.
It is with a great sense of calling and confirmation that we relocated our family to New York City in January of 2013. We believe that God has called us to a specific area (Long Island City in Queens) to start a brand new church. Many people have asked us, “Why New York City?” There are three primary reasons for this.

We believe that God has called us to a specific area (Long Island City in Queens) to start a brand new church. Many people have asked us, “Why New York City?” There are three primary reasons for this.
- CALLING - Over the past two years we have seen how God has been preparing our family to invest our lives in NYC. During this time we have had opportunities to minister to and get to know the people of NYC. God has grown a love of the city and its people in our hearts.
- PEOPLE - One of the distinct things about NYC is the amount of people located in the metropolitan area. Over 22 million people live in this area. That means that 1 of of every 14 people in America live in NYC! There are over 66,000 people that live in every square mile of NYC. It is also a place that has people from virtually every nation living within it’s boundaries. Over 170 languages are spoken daily in the city.
- LOSTNESS - New York City is known as many things, the Big Apple, the city that never sleeps, the cultural and economic capital of the world, but the word that best describes NYC is LOST! It is estimated that there are over 21 million people in NYC that don’t know Christ. That is equivalent to the populations of Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee combined.
